hello
I’m Lou, an artist born in Leicester studying a BA (Hons) Fine Art Degree at De Montfort University. Drawing, painting, photography and printmaking underpin my art practice, my curiosity to experiment and my love of process. I am very intuitive, expressive, playful and inspired by light, colour, repetition, pattern, texture, abstraction, line and nature.
My creative journey has come full circle, following in my late Hungarian father’s footsteps, George László Józsa, wanting to inspire others to make great art, as he did. My pápa used to say to me “I can tell you where to look, but I cannot tell you what to see…that is up to you”.
When you view my portfolio I hope a small part of me in some way connects to you - a visual communication that is forming a narrative that one day will be part of something much bigger. Each piece of work represents a word, a memory, a thought, an experience, an emotion which all makes up a sentence that builds up chapters of my life...my autobiography.

It is exciting to think that right now you are getting a private view into the raw pages of my book before it is fully published. My original doodles, sketches and finished works are dispersing all the time and could end up anywhere in the world! One day my work may need to be found to tell the complete story about an artist who lived a life of turmoil and chaos, who was in the end saved by art.

To understand the depth of my work, you will have to look into the depths of your soul.
